MALIT was set up by Andy Griffith and Paul Kincade in 2001. Andy had completed 11 years of full-time teaching in Merseyside and Paul has been a Community Champion Award winner. They joined together to run a variety of projects. Initially, MALIT concentrated on training in the field of careers and community empowerment projects. This led to work with Comic Relief and local authorities on Merseyside.

Since then MALIT has developed a lofty reputation for delivering well pitched, high quality INSET days and education consultancy that motivate, provoke thought and energise. Our passion is student-led learning and exploring how teachers and schools can develop more effective ways of engaging and structuring the learning of young people.

MALIT works extensively in the North West with more than 50 schools, colleges, universities and local authorities. Its trainers and education consultants are well known nationally both through the

‘Outstanding Teaching’ programme shortlisted for Outstanding Staff Training/Development Initiative in the prestigious TES School Awards 2009 and their range of innovative education training courses.

Our own personal journeys have been shaped by the power of learning and the courses we run for young people inside and outside school. MALIT’s mission when working with young people, from whatever background, is to help them gain knowledge and develop study skills, attitudes and habits thus empowering them to achieve their full potential. This can take the form of working directly with young people through a range of bespoke training interventions or one off study skills courses.
