The ‘Big Four’ for teacher improvement

The ‘Big Four’ is a concept that we’ve developed to enable a shared language around improvement between teachers. The ‘Big Four’ helps to bring clarity and a sharper focus on the key areas that lie at the heart of high quality teaching and learning. We’ve worked with schools to move away from lengthy checklists for teachers, to a deeper on-going learning conversation within teams of teachers about how to improve feedback, autonomy, challenge and engagement.
